Pay no attention to that other response. We have a "lurker" who attempts to be funny on occasion.
As for the gas tank, there is no direct bolt-on replacement tank with a larger capacity. If you check the J & P Cycles catalog, in the tank section you'll find a "universal, strap or weld, fat-bob mount." This can be used with the old style 3.5 or 5.0 gallon tanks. The 3.5s would likely fit without seat modifications; with the 5.0s, plan on butchering your seat. For the little bit of extra range, I don't think having to modify your bike would be worth it.
Why not just carry spun aluminum canisters (like mountain climbers carry) full of gas? 5 or 6 of them will easily fit in your average saddlebag. Of course, you can't pour the gas in without stopping the bike, but it beats spending a lot of time and frustration trying to find/make a bigger tank. Plus, if you run low on gas in the middle of nowhere, you're covered.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

PS: I have a 4.75 U.S. gallon Mustang style tank for FXRs that I'll sell you if you want to experiment.
